Top Three | Party Dresses

As party season is quickly approaching, we here at Yogoego wanted to bring you our top party picks for the season.

Retro Colour Pop

Looking to the past for inspiration is one of the season's top trends. From glamorous 1940's furs, to funky 1970's disco to 1960's minimalism there's some retro appeal for everyone. For the party season, we recommend looking to the 60's and 70's for cute colour pops and mini length dresses.

Dress £60 Lipsy, Shoes £25 Yogo Ego

This berry coloured Lipsy dress is a versatile option. The long sleeves make it a great choice for cool winter evenings, and the colour looks great against black opaques or bare legs. The wide sleeves and embellished neckline are reminiscent of 70's disco, while the ultra mini length echoes the swinging 60's - both perfect for making a party statement.

The LWD - Little White Dress

We are all familiar with the last minute lifesaver and perfect for any occasion LBD, but this season the contrasting LWD is on the rise. We love the idea of white for winter, and if you are careful choosing a style and shape, the LWD can be just as flattering as it's little black counterpart.

Dress £141 French Connection, Clutch £46 Religion, Shoes £65 Steve Madden

The embellished cuff and one single sleeve of this French Connection style is both festive and elegant. The ribbon tie belt accentuates the waist for a flattering fit. If it's too cold for bare legs, teaming this dress with black tights would add an on trend monochrome mod feel to the look.

Sequins and Sparkle

The ultimate party statement of course has to include sequins, glitter and metallics. For a head-turning look, opt for all over sequins, or opt for a subtle sparkle with shoes and accessories.

Dress £15 Yogo Ego, Blazer £130 Selected Femme

An all over sequin dress like the above Yogo Ego style is festive and eye-catching. Avoid being over the top by styling with minimal jewellery and a simple high heeled shoe. A tailored blazer or tux jacket will add an element of sophistication (and extra warmth!) to the look.

OR, if you are looking for an alternative to a dress to rock the party this year, look to some classic wide leg trousers or even a jumpsuit or playsuit.

Top £65 Selected Femme, Trousers £48 Yogo Ego, Shoes £38 Yogo Ego, Clutch £25 Juno

If you are worried about your hips or legs, a wide or flared trouser could be the perfect option. A high waisted style, like the above Yogo Ego palazzo pants, elongates the legs and flatters the hips. Teamed with a glitzy sequin top and animal accessories, trousers are a grown up and elegant alternative to the classic cocktail dress
